Wilson’s Paints is a family business established in Exmouth in 1990.

We pride ourselves on not just supplying quality products but also helpful advice from our years of experience.

In the early 2000s we created our own range of unique products which we are hugely proud of and it is this range that led to us being granted a Royal Warrant in 2011.

Coach Kote is a clear version of the Coach enamel we make for Buckingham Palace for use on the Royal coaches. Coach Kote is a long oil resin-based product which means it has a long molecular structure giving it more durability, flexibility and toughness.

The addition of ultraviolet filters makes this product superior to conventional varnishes, especially outdoors. It is very versatile and used on boats, garden furniture and many other wooden items.

Devon Wood Oil is unlike most commercial wood oils as it uses more costly raw materials chosen for their eco-credentials. In particular, we use pure turpentine, a natural product, instead of a petroleum-based solvent.

It also has an ultraviolet filter not found in most other brands. We recommend using Devon Wood Oil on furniture, doors and floors. 

Our latest addition, Ragged Jacks, is a durable acrylic alternative to traditional chalk paints that can be used inside and out, getting that lovely shabby chic texture, but without the need for a protective coating like wax.

As it is a flexible paint it is also perfect for wood as it will expand and contract with the wood to avoid any damage and ensure longevity. It requires minimal prep work and if you wish to change it in the future it is just coat on coat, no sanding or stripping necessary.
