about us
Wilson’s Paints is a bustling family-run business, founded in Exmouth in 1990 by David & Linda Wilson. With almost 30-years in the paint trade, and a strong work ethic, we quickly became well known for supplying high-quality painting and decorating products to customers from near and far. Using our years of experience, we created our own product range: Devon Wood Oil, Ragged Jacks & Coach-Kote. We have the distinction of being issued the Royal Warrant of appointments from Her Majesty The Queen in January 2011. This is a mark of recognition we are highly proud of, and comes as a result of creating our own unique and popular Coach Enamel, ‘Coach-Kote’, in 2005. It caught the eye of Her Majesty The Queen and is used by the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace. We have now been supplying the Royal Family for over 10-years and we are incredibly proud of our Royal Warrant, that has recently been renewed. It’s not all about Coach-Kote though; our very own Devon Wood Oil has gone on to become one of our best-selling products. Created back in 1990 when Wilson’s Paints was first established, it has gone from strength to strength. Over the years we have helped many people by modifying products or by using some radical ideas to satisfy specifications and needs, developing a growing reputation in the process as the specialist go-to supplier of paints and DIY products in the southwest.

I recently purchased some paint at one of the big chains, I had to have it mixed as they didn’t have the gloss colour I wanted. On opening the tin and our decorator applying it, it looked totally different far to light. They said they couldn’t darken it is have to buy more… as you can imagine I was appalled at this. My decorator spoke with the man at WILSON’S PAINTS and today the lovely man darkened my paint down for a few pound. I will definitely be using him in the future he was polite helpfull and local. A huge thank you to a shop I forget is there!  — Kath Webb, Facebook 18/11/17
