Our Royal Warrant!

We’ve always prided ourselves on our eye for colour, but we never thought that one day, it would lead to our little family firm from Devon being in the gardens of Buckingham Palace as suppliers to Her Majesty the Queen.  

So, How Did It Come About? 

Sixteen years ago, we were approached, by recommendation, to match the main colour of the British royal coach fleet. This was in the days before colour matching tools and the match was done purely by eye and knowledge. This is something we still offer to this day when requested, creating custom colours for our customers.  

After a successful match, we made up the colour in our own brand Coach Enamel and became suppliers to the palace. After 5 years of supply, we were eligible to apply for a Royal Warrant.  

This is something that is granted by Her Majesty the Queen herself to show recognition of certain individuals or companies for the services they provide to the palace or royal family.  

During the snow of Christmas 2010, we came down to our shop in Exmouth to pick up the post and in amongst the pile was confirmation that we were to be granted a Royal Warrant – a great late Christmas present for our family! 

In 2013 we were invited to the Queen’s Coronation Festival, a 4-day event held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace for warrant holders including John Lewis, Land Rover and Pimms. It was a huge honour to be there displaying our own brand products and talking to the palace staff about the projects they have been used for.  

We have now been supplying the Palace for over 16 years and it has been a privilege to watch historical events such as the Princes’ weddings, seeing our paint on display.  

The last year has not been an easy one for our business, like many, dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. Amongst the disruption and devastation we were very fortunate to not only have our warrant renewed for an additional 5 years but also the palace has now expanded the range of products they purchase from us.
